A few months ago I did a little road trip. OK, that is me being sarcastic. You see, I do all kinds of crazy long road trips by motorcycle. My current ride is a 2007 BMW K1200GT which has all kinds of bells and whistles. We’re talking about more than just cruise control too. It has heated grips and seats, a windshield that goes up and down with the push of a button, removable luggage and it even has anti lock brakes! Anyway, this little road trip took me from my home in San Diego to Daytona Beach Florida.

Here in California it seems like nobody has any land for sale. But boy, when I was scooting across Arizona land for sale was the norm instead of an oddity. There were for sale signs all over the place. And then as I continued on the really long part of the trip which is where you take I10 across Texas (wow, if you think it looks like a long haul on a map, then try it some time!), I saw that there was lots and lots of signs for acreage for sale in Texas. But that is kind of where it all ended. Once I got into Louisiana, the signs all disappeared. I hardly saw any land available the rest of the way to the Atlantic coast.
